Beginning

Reads mostly word by word. Very little expression or enthusiasm in voice. Little sense of trying to make text sound like natural language. Volume is generally very soft.

Use of expression clear and consistent. Reading has expression with some enthusiasm. The reader uses an appropriate volume level for the entire poem.
