Meaning and Originality	Beginning Creed appears to be thoughtless or rushed. Work is very repetitive, and ideas are unoriginal.	Meeting The creed is creative.	Excelling Creed is creative and original. It is evident that the student put thought into their words and uniquely conveyed their ideas and emotions.
Details and Imagery	Beginning Difficult to visualize image or emotion;limited or no details.	Meeting Some details are provided. Some use of image, idea, or emotion.	Excelling Vivid, detailed images and intensely felt emotion make the creed come alive. Prayer creatively uses techniques to provide insightfulness for the reader.
Grammar	Beginning There are numerous spelling or grammar errors, making the poems difficult to understand. Punctuation is used incorrectly.	Meeting Proper use of spelling and grammar is used consistently throughout the creed. Punctuation is utilized when necessary.	Excelling
Content Nicene Creed or Apostles Creed	Beginning Student did not choose to model their prayer after either the Apostles Creed or the Nicene Creed.	Meeting Student chose to model their prayer after either the Apostles Creed or the Nicene Creed, however is missing parts and/or did not fully express the idea in 1 or more sections.	Excelling Student chose to model their prayer after either the Apostles Creed or the Nicene Creed, and fully expresses the idea in all sections.
