Food Groups 1st Grade -- Food Groups Students need to learn what foods are in each food group and why we need to eat a variety of food groups. The students may struggle with understanding why we need to eat from a variety of groups because it is new to them. Students will embark on a webquest journey to find out more about food group. K-2 Grade Health - Food Groups Students need to learn what foods are in each food group and why we need to eat a variety of food groups.
	Excellent 50 pts	Good 40 pts	Fair 30 pts	Needs Improvement 20 pts
Identifying food groups (Fruits, vegetables, dairy, proteins, and grains)	Excellent Student can identify all five food groups easily.	Good Student can identify all five food groups, but it takes them a while and they need scaffolding.	Fair Student can identify 3 or 4 food groups.	Needs Improvement Student can identify 1 or no food groups.
Identifying foods within groups Carrots for veggies,<BR> Apples for fruit, ect.	Excellent Student can identify a food from each group easily.	Good Student can identify a food from each group with heavy scaffolding.	Fair Student can identify foods from only 3 or 4 groups.	Needs Improvement Student can identify foods from either 1 or no food groups.
Eating a variety of foods St. is able to built a healthy lunch including the 5 food groups.	Excellent Student knows how to combine a variety of foods in a meal.	Good Student knows how to combine some foods in a meal.	Fair Student knows how to combine two or three of foods in a meal.	Needs Improvement Student knows the food groups but is not asble to combine them for a meal.
