Reading Comprehension Questions Reading Comprehension Questions Students are required to answer comprehension questions doing/after class readings. Answers must be written in complete sentences. Read Aloud	Below the Standard Student did not read aloud when called upon and/or did not answer more than half of questions correctly.	Approaching the Standard Student read aloud when called upon but did not read the whole text.	Meets the Standard Student read aloud with 80% of text when called upon. Student recognized periods and read with expression.	Exceeds the Standard Student read all of text with (100%) accuracy correctly. Student fully demonstrates comprehension of main idea from the reading.
Cooperative/Volunteer	Below the Standard Student did not actively participate in reading activity. The student makes no attempt to include textually relevant information.	Approaching the Standard Student stayed active during reading session for 50% of the time. The level of detail in each question is emerging. Attempts to engage the text are made.	Meets the Standard Student stayed active 80% of the time and student could add a bit more textual detail to further enhance response.	Exceeds the Standard Student stayed active 100% of the time. The level of detail in each question is excellent. Textual details are relevant and student has connected fully with the literature.
Response to questions	Below the Standard Student did not stay on topic. Student did not attempt to answer questions.	Approaching the Standard The level of detail in each question is emerging. Attempts to engage the text are made.	Meets the Standard Student answered 80% of comprehension questions correctly. Student comprehends main idea of the reading.
