Rubber Band Cars

Construction	Poor Car was poorly put together - uneven wheels, misaligned body, and/or a body that did not remain intact	Fair Car was put together but was not tight, straight, or even.	Good Car was nicely constructed with most of the elements aligned and secure.	Excellent Car was beautifully constructed - nice tight construction of body of car, axles perfectly straight, propeller aligned and free to rotate.
Process	Poor Class time was used ineffectively. All members did not participate and were often off task. Journal entries were few and sparse in content.	Fair Class time used to work on project, but seemed idle at times. At least 3 journal entries which showed reflection and thought.	Good Used class time to work on project and improve performance. Journal entries numbered 4 or more and showed daily changes to project.	Excellent Student was never off task during this project and used class time extremely well to meet the challenge. 5 or more journal entries which showed daily progress.
Lab Report	Poor Data table missing data, questions poorly answered, graph incomplete, and/or poor conclusion/	Fair Elements of lab are present but lacking in content and make little sense. Graph missing or of very low quality.	Good All elements of lab are present. Most answers are complete. Graph is correctly plotted. Conclusion is satisfactory.	Excellent Elements of lab are standard and reflect high student understanding. Graph is neatly and correctly done, questions have clear and correct answers, conclusion is logical and shows synthesis between process and end result.
Reflection Questions	Poor Many answers left blank or answered with one word answers. Little thought went into answering these prompts. Many grammatical errors.	Fair Most questions answered but with incomplete sentences and/or poor answers. Grammatical errors.	Good All questions answered with thoughtful responses. May have some grammatical errors.	Excellent All questions answered with thoughtful responses, correct grammar and sentence structure, and good feedback.
Performance	Poor Car did not move or did not move more than 5 cm.	Fair Car sometimes moved, but other times did not. Direction was inconsistent. Car moved less than 3 m.	Good Car consistently moved at least 3 m but sometimes would travel out of bounds.	Excellent Car consistently traveled in a straight line a distance 3 m or over.
