Hunch back, leaning on podium, fidgeting, tapping the podium, stiff as a board. Poise of composure is lost during any distractions. Looks like a ball of nerves.

Stands up straight but slouches on occasion. Occasionally fidgets.
Good
Mbr stands up straight, faces audience, and doesn’t fidget. Looks extremely comfortable.
Eye Contact

Holds no eye contact with audience, entire presentation is read from script.
Fair
Displays minimal eye contact with audience, while reading mostly from the script.

Holds attention of entire audience with the use of direct eye contact, seldom looking at script.
Vocal Expression

Speaks in low volume and/or monotonous tone (like the “Clear Eyes” commercial). The mbr is not able to keep the audience engaged. Articulation and pronunciation tend to be sloppy.

Speaks with satisfactory variation of volume/inflection. Some effort to meet the audiences needs and interests. Generally, articulation and pronunciation are clear.

Speaks with fluctuation in volume/inflection to maintain audience interest and emphasizes key points. The delivery is extemporaneous and is modified as needed.

Shows no interest in topic presented. Hand gestures detract from what is being said. Mbr speaks with hands.

Facial Expression

Facial expressions show as though the mbr is bored with the information they are reading to the audience.

Facial expressions and other nonverbal expressions do not detract significantly from the message.

Facial expressions show the mbr's enthusiasm and excitement for what they are relaying to the audience.

Speeds through the script without stopping to breathe. Reads too slowly, constantly losing their place in the script.

Reads evenly but is just ok, loses their place in the reading on a few occasions.

Reads at an outstanding pace, able to keep their place on the script.
Knowledge of Material

Seems as though this was their first time ever seeing/reading the material. Mispronounced the simplest of words.

Can tell the mbr read the script a few times to get familiar with the reading. Mispronounced a few words.

Mbr presented the script with such ease and comfort as if they wrote it themselves. Good language skills and pronunciation is used.
