Senior Project Creative Burger Salad and Sandwich Challenge Students will create and prepare a creative and unique burger and a side dish. They will provide a recipe and shopping list prior to the event. They will have to prepare, assemble, and present their burger in 90 minutes. 	Novice Lack of effort, or use of equipment, wandered out of Kitchen, or didn't do assigned kitchen tasks 3 pts	Developing Practiced good teamwork skills, and interpersonal skills. completed all personal, pre-prep, and prep skills, completed kitchen duties, shows professionalism, good attitude, shows creativity, practices good techniques 6 pts	Proficient Shows leadership skills within kitchen and class, shows professionalism, mastered techniques, shows creativity, completes assigned jobs and kitchen duties. 9 pts
Burger Creation and Prep Mise en place of food ingredients and equipment	Novice The student only worked with constant prodding, did not participate in all tasks .They did not practice demonstrated techniques.	Developing Student completed all the steps but did not use time management	Proficient Student practiced excellent time management in preparation procedures and completed all steps successfully.
Burger Assembling	Novice The student did not assemble the according to the description of the burger. The work area was unorganized and messy	Developing Student followed the procedures for assembling burger. Burger Presentation	Novice The plate was messy and the sandwich looked unappetizing.	Developing The plate was neat but the sandwich was somewhat unflavored.	Proficient The plate was neat and clean. The sandwich flavor was strong and presented creatively
Safety and Sanitation	Novice The student did not demonstrate proper safety and sanitation practices such as using equipment in the appropriate manner, hand washing, secure hair or assisting in final clean-up	Developing The student demonstrated proper safety and sanitation practices most of the time.	Proficient The student demonstrated safety and sanitation practices and ensured they were practiced by others in the group.
Recipes Burger, Sauces, and Side dish	Novice Original recipes provided with out any conversions to proper number of portions. Only one topping and no side dish.	Developing Original recipes organized neatly, showing conversions to proper number of portions with minimal mathematical mistakes. Multiple toppings and side dish doesn't flow with burger.
