Song Construction	Superior Song is constructed logically and musically. No abrupt changes in form.	Excellent Song is constructed mostly logically and musically. Very few abrupt changes in form.	Good Song is constructed somewhat logically and musically. Occasional abrupt changes in form.	Poor Song is not constructed logically and musically. Frequent abrupt changes in form are evident.
Performance Execution	Superior The performance was well executed. Students were confident on their instruments and knew exactly what their role was.	Excellent The performance was mostly well executed. Students were mostly confident on their instruments and knew exactly what their role was.	Good The performance was somewhat well executed. Students were sometimes confident on their instruments and more often than not, knew exactly what their role was.	Poor The performance was not well executed. Students were not confident on their instruments and were unclear as to what their role was.
Mastery of Technology	Superior Students demonstrated a high level of proficiency on their instruments.	Excellent Students demonstrated an advanced level of mastery on their instruments.	Good Students demonstrated an adequate level of proficiency on their instruments.	Poor Students demonstrated very little proficiency on their instruments which directly effected the quality of the overall performance.

Excellent A high level of creativity and variety was evident throughout most of the performance.	Good A high level of creativity and variety was evident throughout some of the performance.	Poor A high level of creativity and variety was not evident throughout most of the performance.
Rehearsal	Superior 95-100% of given rehearsal time was spent on task. Intelligent musical discussion was evident throughout.	Excellent 90-95% of given rehearsal time was spent on task. Mostly intelligent musical discussion was evident throughout.	Good 85-90% of given rehearsal time was spent on task. Somewhat intelligent musical discussion was evident throughout.	Poor below 85% of given rehearsal time was spent on task. Very little intelligent musical discussion was evident throughout.
