Poetry Recitation
	Excellent 3 pts	Good 2 pts	Fair 1 pts
Shakespeare/2 Days Prior	Excellent Child used memorization tools frequently to memorize Shakespeare without error.	Good Child used some memorization tools to memorize Shakespeare and/or had a few errors.	Fair Child did not use memorizations tools and/or has many errors when attempting to recite Shakespeare without assistance.
Individual Poem/2 Days Prior	Excellent Child used memorization tools frequently to memorize poem without error.	Good Child use some memorization tools to memorize poem and/or had a few errors.	Fair Child did not use memorization tools and/or has many errors when attempting to recite poem without assistance.
Attentive Listening/Event	Excellent Child sat facing the speaker. Child did not speak during the recitations. Child did not distract and was not distracted by other's behavior.	Good Child sat facing the speaker. Child needed a few reminders to stop talking or distracting others during recitations.	Fair Child needed adult assistance due to talking or distracting behavior during recitations.
Memorization/Performance	Excellent Child has memorized the poems and is able to present it without error.	Good Child has memorized poems and is able to present with just a few errors from which child recovers.	Fair Child has memorized some of poems but has to use either verbal prompts or written poems for assistance.
Recitation Skills/Performance	Excellent Child stands facing the audience and speak clearly using appropriate pauses and pacing. Expression clearly communicates meaning and emotion.	Good Child stands facing the audience and speaks clearly. Pauses and pacing is sometimes inappropriate. Expression doesn't always communicate meaning and emotion.
