Student is able to identify pattern being performed and is able to determine the number of counts/beats in the pattern with prompting.
Distinguished

Student is able to identify pattern being performed and is able to determine the number of counts/beats in the pattern independently.
Notes/Rest Identification

Quarter note and Quarter rest

Student is unable to identify a any notes or rests.

Student is able to identify some notes or rests in a pattern.

Students perform a pattern with 4 beats while reading/speaking the rhythm, clapping and then and playing an instrument.

Student is unable to perform a basic 3 or 4 beat pattern while clapping, speaking, or playing the pattern.

Student is able to perform a basic 4 beat pattern of notes and rests one of the following ways with prompting:
1-Clapping while speaking the rhythm
2-Playing while speaking the rhythm
Proficient

Student is able to perform a basic 4 beat pattern of notes and rests one of the following ways independently:
1-Clapping while speaking the rhythm
2-Playing while speaking the rhythm
Distinguished

Student is able to perform a basic 4 beat pattern of notes and rests both of the following ways independently:
1-Clapping while speaking the rhythm
2-Playing while speaking the rhythm
