Basketball Dribbling Skills
	Beginning 1 pts	Developing 2 pts	Proficient 3 pts	Excellent 4 pts
Hand stays on top of ball	Beginning Student lets the ball go above the hand 6 or more times. Correct form is not used at all.	Developing Student lets the ball go above the hand 3-5 times. Correct form used some of the time	Proficient Student lets the ball go above the hand 1-2 times. Correct form most of the time	Excellent Student never lets the ball go above the hand. Correct form is used everytime.
Head up	Beginning Student looks down at the basketball 6 or more times. Correct form is not used at all.	Developing Student looks down at the basketball 3-5 times. Correct form used some of the time	Proficient Student looks down at the basketball 1-2 times. Correct form most of the time	Excellent Student never looks down down at the basketball. Correct form is used everytime
Fingertips/pads of fingers	Beginning Student uses the palm of the hand 6 or more times to dribble the basketball. Correct form is not used at all.	Developing Student uses the palm of the hand 3-5 times to dribble the basketball. Correct form used some of the time	Proficient Student uses the palm of the hand 1-2 times to dribble the basketball. Correct form most of the time	Excellent Student solely uses the fingertips/pads of fingers to dribble the basketball. Correct form is used everytime.
Violations	Beginning Student commits a traveling or double dribble violation everytime.	Developing Student commits a traveling or double dribble violation most of the time.	Proficient Student commits a traveling or double dribble violation some of the time.	Excellent Student never commits a traveling or double dribble violation.
