Choral Audition Form

Singing Technique Ready Position= Good Posture/hands at side. Extended Breath= 4 count breath before singing.	Poor Student displays no knowledge of basic vocal technique such as proper breathing, and posture.	Fair Student does not maintain "Ready Position." Student takes some breath before singing.	Good When coached, student, easily executes "Ready Position" When coached, student takes extended breath before singing.	Superior Student easily executes "Ready Position" Student takes extended breath before singing.
Solfege Solfege- Hand Signs, syllables and major scale.	Poor Student does not know solfege hand signs. Student does not know solfege syllables. Major scale is unrecognizable or not sung at all. The student shows no confidence.	Fair Few or no Solfege hand signs were performed correctly. Few or no Solfege syllables were sung correctly. Few pitches were sung accurately. Major scale was barely recognizable. Lacks confidence.	Good Most Solfege hand signs were performed correctly. Most Solfege syllables were sung correctly. Most pitches were sung accurately. Major scale was recognizable.	Superior All Solfege hand signs were performed correctly. All Solfege syllables were sung correctly. Student performs pitches confidently and flawlessly. Major scale was easily recognizable.
Cielito Lindo	Poor Student could not sing along with music. Student changed pitches and had trouble singing the melody of the song. Student did not know song by memory.	Fair Student did not start on the correct pitch; but was able to finish the song correctly after being redirected. Student had a few memorization problems.	Good Student sang the song correctly. There were a few pitch problems, but the melody of the song was more than 75% accurate. Student had song completely memorized or with only a slight error.	Superior Student sang the song without any flaws and with confidence. Student had song completely memorized.
Vocal Quality	Poor The student lacks support or over exerts sound.	Fair The student has good vocal quality with some occasional pitch issues.	Good The student has exceptional vocal quality with full, pleasant sound most of the time.	Superior The student has exceptional vocal quality with full, pleasant sound.
