Employment Law/Human Rights Tribunal Hearing
In your professional career as a Human Resources specialist, you will more than likely encounter claims under the Ontario Human Rights Code and the Employment Standards Act. Indeed, it is very likely that you may at one point in time be on the opposite side of a claim yourself. This assignment requires learners to file, reply to and adjudicate upon claims made under both of these statutes in a role-play. Learners will arbitrarily be assigned into teams of 2 each of Employer, Employee and Adjudicator. One of each of these will be the Spokesperson/Counsel for the Employer & Employee and the other the client. For the 2nd assignment, learners will be assigned to a different role.
