Good Student’s quilt has two metaphorical images, student shows limited creativity with designs.	Excellent Student created an aesthetically pleasing quilt that represents them, made up of 3 or more metaphorical images and more decorative images, a pleasing color scheme. Student adequately displays their creativity through the design.
Knowledge of Text	Poor Evident through the project, student did no research or study the short story, or misunderstood the main message.	Fair Student fairly understood the short story; showed evidence of close reading, but lacked depth in analysis of text.	Good Student read and understood themes of the short story, but did not understand the background of the author or historical context. Student showed limited propensity towards creative thinking.	Excellent Student displayed knowledge of the short story, background on the author, its events, themes, and real-life application. Student applied critical thinking to the application of the project.
Presentation	Poor Student’s presentation had no real connection to quilt’s design, student was not confident or did not prepare to present.	Fair Student’s presentation was difficult to understand or their thesis was not clearly put. Presentation lasted shorter than 30 seconds.	Good Student presented their patch, but did so without depth in less than 30 seconds.	Excellent Student is confident in sharing one or more patches on their quilt. The images produce a clear connection between aspects of identity. The student presented for at least 30 seconds.
Effort	Poor Student is distracted or off-topic.	Fair Student's project shows little effort or preparation.	Good Student did not take the project seriously and this is communicated in their behavior.	Excellent Student’s quilt shows clear effort and ability using online resources.
