Welding Technique 
Student will perform a: butt weld, lap weld, T-joint weld. A total of 6 welds will be performed ( 2 per type) 1 with push technique and one with pull technique.

Work Angle

Align the welding torch to the work surface

Student aligned the welding torch so that the electrode was pointing at the center of the joint to be welded. student kept a consistent angle while welding.
90' for butt weld
70' for lap weld
45' for T-joint weld

Student kept a descent work angle will welding, but wandered slightly along the joint. overall appearance is acceptable.

Student allowed angle to decrease or increase to much while welding. overall appearance is not acceptable and a wave pattern is visible in the weld.

Travel Angle

Align welding torch for the push or pull technique.

Student use the correct travel angle for either a "Push Technique" or "Pull Technique".
Between 80 & 70 degrees tilt to the work surface.

Student went to slow while welding. Undercut is highly visible. spots of burn through are noticeable.

Student went to slow, burned thru majority of the panel being welded.
