Identifying feelings	1 Student cannot identify how they are feeling in the classroom	2 Student begins to identify how they are feeling in the classroom but they are not always accurate	3 Student can accurately identify how they are feeling in the classroom and attempts to identify the source of their feelings	4 Student can accurately identify how they are feeling in the classroom and can accurately identify the source of their feelings	5 Student can accurately identify how they are feeling in the classroom and make connections between common triggers and feelings of dysregulation
Using a coping strategy	1 Student does not attempt to use a coping strategy when feeling dysregulated	2 Student requires adult prompting to use a coping strategy or uses strategies that are ineffective	3 Student begins to use coping strategies independently when feeling dysregulated but requires adult prompting for consistency and appropriateness	4 Student can independently identify and implement 3 or more coping strategies when they are feeling dyregulated	5 Student can identify triggers that may cause them to be dysregulated and proactively use a coping skill to remain regulated in class.
