	Exemplary 5 pts	Above Average 4 pts	Acceptable 3 pts	Unsatisfactory 2 pts
Purpose	Exemplary Student process and final product reflect a thorough and insightful understanding of the aim of this creative process	Above Average Student process and final product reflect a solid level of understanding of the aim of this creative process	Acceptable Evidence of a basic understanding of the aim of this creative process, which is sufficient to generate an acceptable product	Unsatisfactory Evidence of understanding is lacking or not seen. The end product is not acceptable.
Creative Process	Exemplary Conscientious, enthusiastic and productive engagement in the creative process, independent of teacher intervention	Above Average Student is steadily involved in the creative process, with no teacher intervention or prompting	Acceptable Sufficient engagement in the creative process to allow for generation of an acceptable product	Unsatisfactory Generation and thought behind production of product does not demonstrate mastery. Insufficient engagement did not produce a creative product.
Originality	Exemplary Process and product are rich in uniqueness and novelty; striking originality in or product	Above Average Product has more than rare or unusual element	Acceptable Product is appropriate within the goals of the task and has at least one unusual element	Unsatisfactory Product is not acceptable to the stated goals and/or is not original.
Durability & Craftsmanship	Exemplary The design is a 100% feasible and well-planned. Details and features are excellently demonstrated.	Above Average The design is a 80% feasible and well-planned. Details and features are clearly demonstrated.	Acceptable The design is a 60% feasible. Details and features are demonstrated.	Unsatisfactory The design is a 40% or less feasible. Details and features are unclear or confusing.
Effort	Exemplary Completed the design and far exceeded the requirements.	Above Average Completed the design in an above average manner, yet more could have been done.	Acceptable Finished the design but it lacks finishing touches or can be improved with little effort.	Unsatisfactory Did not finish the design in a satisfactory manner.
