Math Objective 1: Students will be able to use addition and subtraction to solve word problems. Objective 2: Students will solve addition & subtraction word problems using clues from the text. Objective 3: Students will solve addition & subtraction word problems & explain how they arrived at a solution.
	Meets Criteria 3 pts	Progressing 2 pts	Beginning 1 pts
Procedural Fluency The student shows computational accuracy with addition & subtraction word problems. Objective 1 Questions 1-4	Meets Criteria The student independently completed the accurate computations to arrive at the right answer.	Progressing The student independently completed the computations but made some mistakes.	Beginning The student attempted to complete the problem but made errors and/or provided no answer.
Conceptual understanding The student shows evidence of thinking through a process to solve the problem (ex: using text clues to figure out if the solution is addition or subtraction). Objective 2 Questions 1-4	Meets Criteria The student independently completed demonstrated thinking through a process to solve a problem.	Progressing The student did not demonstrate thinking through the process to solve the problem but did find the correct answer.	Beginning The student does not understand the concept of solving the problem.
Problem Solving The student computes a reasonable answer to the problem. Objective 3 Questions 1-4	Meets Criteria The student independently computed an accurate and reasonable answer to the problem.	Progressing The student independently computed a reasonable answer to the problem that was not accurate.	Beginning The student computed an unreasonable answer to the problem.
