Construction and craftmanship 25 pts	Unsatisfactory Overall construction has flaws such as cracks, warping, dents, visible seams, clay is too thick or too thin, rough edges.	Needs Improvement Overall construction has minor flaws and student made some attempt to correct issues.	Satisfatory Construction is sound and functional without obvious flaws, edges are smooth, and parts are neatly trimmed.	Acomplished Outstanding construction No apparent flaws. Student has great knowledge of the clay and terminology and is a problem solver.
Design of the ceramic form 25 pts	Unsatisfactory Project is deficient in overall design such as too big, too small, no detail, unbalanced, disproportionate.	Needs Improvement Project is deficient in overall design such as too big, too small, no detail, unbalanced, disproportionate.	Satisfatory Basic design balances and good flow to all sides. All parts create unity.	Acomplished Outstanding Form and flow from all sides....CREATIVE-Something that sets it apart from all the rest.
Glaze 25 pts	Unsatisfactory Little to no attention given to the glazing. Sloppy. Project was NOT dry-footed.	Needs Improvement glazing is to thick or to thin of application, drips, uneven coverage, missed areas.To much color experimentation. Project was dry-footed.	Satisfatory Thought given to the glazing process. Enhanced textures, even coat -Student shows knowledge of glazing do's and dont's ...Good coverage.	Acomplished Outstanding Glaze. Creative...thought given to enhancing the form and texture ...set apart from the rest. Outstanding color work. Student has documented which glaze was used.
Class Participation 25 pts	Unsatisfactory Inattentive to instruction, inefficient use of class time, frequent tardiness, and or disruptive behavior... project not completed on time or no project at all, work area not cleaned. Student does not respect not abide by classroom rules and procedures.	Needs Improvement Time management issues, rushes projects, to much down time, doesn't clean thoroughly. Waits till teacher approaches student to get work out.	Satisfatory Proper use of materials, equipment, cleans up work space, attentive, arrives to class on time.	Acomplished In addition...assist those that may need help, encouraging others. Contribute and invested in the whole process. Shows leadership skills. Student abides by all classroom rules and procedures.
