Writiting the ABC's	Outstanding Demonstrating The student is able to write the upper and lower case letters of the alphabet with distinction.	Developing Developing The student is able to write most letters of the upper and lower case of the alphabet.	Fair Fair Student is able to write some of the lower and upper case alphabet.	Poor Poor Student is not able to write any letters of the alphabet with distinction.
Writing Name	Outstanding Demonstrating Student can print his/her first name legibly with the capital letter as the beginning letter followed by lower case letters.	Developing Developing The student can write most of their first name legibly with one error in distinction or error in capital vs. lower case distinction.	Fair Fair The student is not able to write his first name legibly with more than one error.	Poor Poor The student is using strokes as letters.
Drawing a Person	Outstanding Demonstrating Student can draw a picture of a person with detail including main body, hair, eyes, nose, mouth, arms and legs.	Developing Developing The student can draw a picture of a person with some details and it is recognizable as that of a person.	Fair Fair The student is missing main details to identify the picture as that of a person.	Poor Poor Student has no marks that identify this picture as a person.
Retelling a story using pictures for comprehension	Outstanding Demonstrating The student can draw an accurate picture the represents what was told in the story using details to aid comprehension.	Developing Developing The student can draw a recognizable picture that shows understanding of comprehension from the story.	Fair Fair The student is able to draw a picture with limited details to show comprehension of the story.	Poor Poor The student draws a picture that does not relate to the story.
