The writer has only one or two mistakes in grammar, sentence structure and spelling. The paper approaches one page in length.
Exemplary

There are no mistakes in grammar, sentence structure, and spelling. The paper is at least one page in length.
Questions/Quotations
10 pts

Questions and Quotations are provided that stimulate class discussion. Ideally, the questions posed will be at the higher levels of Blooms taxonomy.

Poor

The question posed by the writer is at the literal level of response and/or the quotation are the minimum required. The writer forgets to provide either the quotation or the question.
Fair

The question posed by the writer is at the literal level of response and/or the quotation provided are minimum required.
Accomplished

The questions and quotations posed by the writer exhibit critical thinking and seek to stimulate class discussion. At least one question and quotation are provided.
Exemplary

The questions and quotations posed by the writer exhibit critical thinking and seek to stimulate class discussion. The writer provides at least two questions and two quotations for discussion.
Talking points
5 pts

The writer provides important points from the chapter that serve to stimulate thought and discussion

Poor

The writer provides only a minimal reflection of the the chapter headings and subheading.
Fair

The writer provides a set of talking points that merely reflect the chapter headings and subheadings.
Accomplished

The talking points demonstrate areas of interest that will spur class discussion.
Exemplary

The talking points demonstrate careful selection by the writer and clearly demonstrate a clear synthesis of ideas from the chapter.
