Demonstration and Teaching of Dance
Level 1
Unprepared and unsure of the choreography. There is no sense of timing or direction.
Often breaking the performance by stopping to: think about steps, embarrassment, etc.
Level 2
Somewhat unprepared and unsure of the choreography. There is some sense of timing or direction. Sometimes break the performance by looking around, watching others throughout performance, etc.
Level 3
Knows the movements fairly well. Has a fairly good sense of timing & direction. A few mistakes made. Dance style is evident in the style what was researched. Performs with minimal distractions. Looks fairly confident and prepared for most of the performance.
Level 4
Knows the movements extremely well. Has a great sense of timing & direction. Entire dance is executed in the dance style that was researched. Performed with enthusiasm, and are invested in their audience
Research Categories
Level 1
Three or more categories are incomplete. No thought or creativity is apparent.
There are many grammatical/selling errors.
Level 2
One or two categories have not been completed accurately. There is little thought or creativity put into the project. There are several grammatical/spelling errors.
Level 3
All four categories of the project are completed accurately and with some creativity. There were very few grammatical/spelling errors.
Level 4
All four categories of the project are completed beyond the expectations given and are very creative and original. There were no grammatical/spelling errors.
Research Presentation
Level 1
The research presentation is very confusing and difficult to follow. It is not eye-catching. There was little comprehension of the dance.
Level 2
The research presentation may or may not be eye-catching and is difficult to follow. The audience did not fully understand the dance.
Level 3
The information is fairly clear and well organized, although the research presentation may not be particularly interesting. It may be eye-catching but somewhat hard to follow. The audience had a fairly good understanding of the dance.
Level 4
All information is completely clear and well-organized. The research presentation is eye-catching, creative and captures the audiences attention. The audience had a clear understanding of the dance.
