Craftmanship/Time and effort	Advanced Student produced exceptional work. It is evident that time, effort, and thought were put in to the art piece. Work exceeds expectations.	Proficient Produces quality work. Effort and time were put in to the art piece. Work meets expectations.	Basic Needs improvement. Quality is below expectations. More effort needed.	Minimal Did not produce quality work. Student did not show an effort. Work does not meet expectations
Citizenship	Advanced Student stayed on task during the project and used class time effectively. Student listened attentively and followed all directions. Student exceeded expectations.	Proficient Student stayed on task during the project and used class time effectively. Student listened attentively and followed directions. Student met expectations.	Basic Needs improvement. Student was on task for part of the project but did not use class time effectively. Student, at times, failed to listen and follow directions.	Minimal Student did not stay on task. The project was done incorrectly or not done at all due to the student not listening or following directions.
Concepts	Advanced Student fully understands the art concepts that were taught. The appropriate use of tools and material used and technique demonstrate full understanding.	Proficient Student understands the art concepts. Student demonstrated understanding of the concepts in their art piece and/or verbally. Tools and material were used appropriately.	Basic Needs improvement. Student does not fully understand the art concepts taught. Tools and material were not used appropriately.	Minimal Student does not demonstrate any understanding of the concepts taught.
Completion	Advanced Art piece is fully complete. Student added extra elements to the piece that were not required, but that strengthened the creative intent.	Proficient Student completed work on time. All required elements were in the piece.	Basic Student only completed some of the requirements. The art piece is missing one or more required elements.	Minimal Student did not complete work.
