Construction / Materials

Outstanding

Used materials Appropriately. Materials were selected and creatively modified in ways that made them even better. Student went above and beyond criteria for project.
Very Effective

Appropriate materials were selected and there was an attempt at creative modification to make them even better.
Effective

Appropriate materials were selected and modified to create a model.
Marginally Effective

Some appropriate materials were selected but minimal modification was attempted to create structure.
Ineffective

Inappropriate materials were selected and contributed to a product that performed poorly.
Quality of work

Outstanding

Great care taken in construction process so that the structure is neat, attractive and accurate.
Very Effective

Construction was careful and accurate for the most part, but 1-2 details could have been refined for a more attractive product.
Effective

Construction accurate, but 3-4 details could have been refined for a more attractive product.
Marginally Effective

Construction appears careless or haphazard. Many details need refinement for a strong or attractive product
Ineffective

Construction appears almost non-existent. Student supplied some material that has no organization or evidence of product.
Mitosis criteria

Outstanding

Included all required aspects of a mitosis stage .
Very Effective

Included most required aspects of mitosis stage (1 important aspect left out). Can still see specific structures of mitosis.
Effective

Included some of the required aspects of mitosis (2-3 aspects left out). Can still see differences.
Marginally Effective

Included very few required aspects of mitosis (4-5 aspects left out). Little recognized structures.
Ineffective

Included almost no required aspects of mitosis (more than 5 aspects left out). Materials used to produce something hard to recognize.
Accuracy

Outstanding

All aspects of mitotic stage are completed with no mistakes. Structure and chromosome, etc. are accurate.
Very Effective

All aspects of mitosis are completed with 1 mistake in Structure and chromosome , etc.
Effective

All aspects of mitosis are completed with 2-3 mistakes in Structure and chromosome , etc.
Marginally Effective

All aspects of mitosis are completed with 4-5 mistakes in Structure and chromosome , etc.
Ineffective

All aspects of mitosis are completed with more than 5 mistakes in Structure and chromosome , etc.
Explanation

Outstanding

Able to completely explain the steps of cell division
Very Effective

Explains mitosis with 1-2 mistakes.
Effective

Explains mitosis with 3-4 mistakes.
Marginally Effective

Explains mitosis with 5-6 mistakes.
Ineffective
