Fairly well stated purpose of the study that connects well to the introduction and the statement of the problem. Fairly well stated hypothesis based on the purpose of the study.

Purpose of the study is not clearly stated and/or does not connect well with the introduction and the statement of the problem. Stated hypothesis is unclear based on the purpose of the study.
Poor (Unsatisfactory)
Purpose of the study is not clearly stated and/or does not connect well with the introduction and the statement of the problem. Lacks a hypothesis or the hypothesis presented does not support the purpose of the study.

APA Formatting
Excellent (Outstanding)
Well formulated introduction based on facts that are supported with strong sources of evidence specific to the topic. Appropriate utilization of citations with well-listed bibliography is observed. APA format utilized correctly.
Good (Satisfactory)
Fairly well formulated introduction that has some evidence to support the topic but the evidence is a mixture of strong and weak sources. Acceptable utilization of citations is observed, minor errors when listing the bibliography. Some errors with APA formatting.

Sources support some claims made in the paper, but might not be integrated well within the paper’s argument. There may be a few errors in APA style.
Poor (Unsatisfactory)
Introduction is not well constructed and provides a few sources of weak evidence to support the topic. No or minimal utilization of citations is observed, frequent errors when listing the bibliography or missing bibliography section as a whole. More than 3 errors in APA formatting.
