Netball Rubric 
Netball: Students will pass the ball and run into position. They will show attack and defence manoeuvers. Students will show competency during a game situation.

Catching

Not demonstrating expected level

-Student cannot catch the netball.
-Has difficulty pivoting to next direction.
-Rigid stance, knees not bent.

-Student can catch the netball while moving.
-Does not have good control.
-Cannot pivot without stepping.
Expected Level

Student can catch the netball, shows good control and proper positioning:
-Student pivots and finds new direction.
-Able to pivot while assessing next passing option.
-Runs onto ball.
Beyond the expected level

Student can catch the netball, pivot to the new direction and deliver the ball successfully.
Shooting

Not demonstrating expected level

-Student cannot shoot the ball successfully.
-Student does not follow through.
-Student is off balance or shooting ball from chest level.

-Student can sometimes shoot the ball successfully.
-Student sometimes follows through.
-Student uses two hands to shoot ball. Seems balanced with ball above eye height.
Expected Level

-Student shoots the ball correctly.
-Student follows through.
-Student adopts correct position to shoot from above the head, is well balanced.
-Student is usually successful in shooting.
Beyond the expected level

Student shoots the ball demonstrating the correct technique, is balanced and follows through to the ring afterwards.
- Student demonstrates excellent accuracy.
Passing

Not demonstrating expected level

-Student cannot pass the ball successfully.
-Student does not follow through on pass.
-Student cannot get the pass to teammates.
-Student does not make sure the pass recipient is ready for the ball.

-Student can sometimes pass the ball successfully.
-Student sometimes follows through the pass.
-Student sometimes make sure the pass recipient is ready for the ball.
Expected Level

-Student passes the ball correctly.
-Student follows through on pass.
-Student usually completes the pass to a teammate.
-Student usually makes sure their teammate is ready for the pass.
Beyond the expected level

-Student passes the ball with precision and accuracy.
-Student passes so that their teammate can receive it with ease.
Attack and Defence

Not demonstrating expected level

-Student does not comprehend the concept of attack or defence.
-Student does not run into position to receive a ball
Student does not defend.
Partial demonstration of expected.

-Student can sometimes run into attack position and receive the ball.
-Student can sometimes take up the defending position and intercept a ball.
Expected Level

-Student shows an understanding of the role of attack and makes position to receive the ball.
-Student can defend a ball from the correct distance and can attempt interceptions.
Beyond the expected level

-Student can use both attack and defending skills in the course of the game.
-The student intercepts the ball and makes turnovers for their team.
