Rhythmic Accuracy	Exemplary All rhythms performed accurately	Proficient Most rhythms performed accurately, with few errors.	Emerging Some rhythms are performed accurately; however, has challenges with some rhythms.
Artistic Expression	Exemplary Student performs the piece with appropriate dynamics, phrasings, and articulation.	Proficient Most of the dynamics are followed, and most of the articulation signs are observed. Most phrases are performed correctly.	Emerging Some dynamics are observed. Some articulation is performed. Some phrases are complete and musically accurate.
Posture	Exemplary Excellent posture Student stands with feet shoulder width apart, hands at side 100% of the time--needs no reminders from the teacher.	Proficient Good Posture Students stands with feet shoulder width apart, hands at side 80% of the time. May need an occasional reminder from teacher.	Emerging Fair Posture Student stands with feet shoulder width apart, hands at side 50% of time. Student needs several reminders from teacher and may have some additional movement.
