ex. Drops toy when teacher extends hand and says "Please give it to me."

Identifies familiar people, animals and objects when prompted
ex. Touches body parts when singing "Head, shoulders, knees and toes."

Following Directions
Follows simple requests not accompanied by gestures.
ex. Throws trash in trash can when asked "Will you throw this away please?"

Responds appropriately to specific vocabulary and simple statements, questions and stories.
ex. Finds favorite illustration in a story when asked

Following Directions
Follows directions of one to two that relate to familiar objects and experiences.
Ex. Completes a sequence of tasks, "Get the book bin and put it on the table. Then bring the paper and crayons."

Responds appropriately to complex statements, questions,vocabulary and stories.
ex. Acts out the life cycle of a butterfly after teacher reads a story about it

Follows detailed, instructional, multi-step directions
Ex. Follows guidance on how to navigate a new computer program.

Does not demonstrate awareness of other children, appropriate use of toys

Shows awareness of toys and play with children/ activities.

Parallel play, exploring environment/ objects/ other children

Turn taking, social greetings, imitating others, initiate their form of communication, whether it be verbal, pictures, signs.
