D - Below Basic
Requires assistance to perform a streamline glide.
Submerging and object retrieval
A - Advanced
Can successfully and independently submerge and retrieve objects from the bottom of the pool.
B - Proficient
Can successfully submerge and retrieve objects from the bottom of the pool with minimal assistance.
C - Basic
Can submerge under water but can not retrieve objects from the bottom of the pool.
D - Below Basic
Is not comfortable submerging face in the water.
Kicking & Strokes/skills
A - Advanced
Can successfully and independently perform freestyle kick with pull or catchup arms.
B - Proficient
Can successfully perform freestyle kick with pull or catchup arms using a kickboard or noodle.
C - Basic
Can perform freestyle kick with assistance and attempts to use arms to pull water.
D - Below Basic
Requires assistance whilst attempting to kick with a paddle board.
