Digital Media Self Portrait-Midterm Spring 2014 
Digital Media Self Portrait-Create a self portrait piece that tells the visual story of you. You may use any or all of the techniques taught in class or your may seek out tutorials to learn something new in Photoshop. You must also look for a typeface or typefaces as type will be used in this project. You may take your own photographs and include them in the project for a bonus 10 points.

Students will create a Self portrait using techniques in Adobe Photoshop & typography in class. Students will weave text and graphics together to tell an individual visual story promoting their personal story for the cover of their portfolio.

Correct Dimensions

8.5" x 11" resolution 150 dpi. Project must contain a minimum of 5 images.

Color Correction/Retouching

All images must be color corrected prior to compositing. Images may also be retouched using the patch, clonestamp, healing brush, liquify filter. Images must come from royalty free sites such as www.morguefile or www.sxc.hu. Please save these individual images in a folder with layers showing. Each image must have at least a levels correction.

Project contains color corrected or retouched images, however, layers are flattened, or images are saved in an improper format (.jpg, gif, etc.)

All images are color corrected/retouched effectively using multiple adjustment layers and/or masks to target adjustments selectively.
Layer Masking

Project uses multiple blending modes on multiple layers to create a distinct and harmonious effect. Blending Modes are used to blend additional layers with the original image which significantly enhances the image.
Font Selection/Text Styling

Project contains type in an appropriate typeface, congruent with the tone of the images and the piece.<BR>
