Striking (Essential Skill) Rubric for Striking will be used to assess students as they perform the skill. Mature Motor Pattern	Poor Student demonstrates striking without mature motor patterns present.	Fair With reminders, student demonstrates one or most mature motor patterns while striking.	Satisfactory (Target) Student demonstrates most mature motor patterns while striking without reminders.	Outstanding Student demonstrates all mature motor patterns while striking with ease.
Grip	Poor With help, student is able to hold a short-handled implement with proper grip.	Fair Student occasionally demonstrates proper grip of a short-handled implement.	Satisfactory (Target) Demonstrates proper grip of the short-handled implement.	Outstanding Looks natural when holding the short-handled implement.
