word problem puzzle rubric! Arrays Rubric Students will demonstrate their understanding of multiplication and division by selecting images that display the equation. Word Problem Puzzle Rubric
	Meets Criteria Student independently meets the objective. 3 pts	Progressing Student is able to meet objective with assistance. 2 pts	Beginning Student is developing knowledge but does not meet the objective. 1 pts
Participation The student works with their team members to both create a word-problem puzzle, and to think-pair-share their individual puzzles. (Informal check for understanding section)	Meets Criteria The student works well with their group members to create a word-problem puzzle, including their own thoughts and insight, and provides substantial and accurate feedback to their partner during the think-pair-share.	Progressing The student provides some assistance to the group, but could have voiced their opinions and vision for the puzzle more. Their feedback to their partner during the think-pair-share is lacking.	Beginning The student piggybacks off of their partners and does not provide their own assistance and thinking in the creation of the puzzle. They do not provide feedback during the think-pair-share.
Conceptual Understanding The student shows evidence of thinking through a process to create a word problem puzzle using the provided problem and collaboration with their group members (e.g., student creates visual model to make sense of information). (Guided practice section)	Meets Criteria The student worked with their team members to draw out an array or image, the equation, and the final answer to fit with their puzzle. The puzzle pieces were accurate.	Progressing The student worked with their team members to draw out an array or image, the equation, and the final answer to fit with their puzzle. The puzzle pieces were inaccurate.	Beginning The student and their team members did not complete drawing out an array or image, the equation, and the final answer to fit with their puzzle. The puzzle was incomplete.
Mathematical Reasoning/Problem-Solving The student uses creativity and mathematical thinking to compute a word-problem puzzle of their own. (Independent practice section)	Meets Criteria The student independently computed an accurate word-problem puzzle with the provided problem.	Progressing The student independently computed a word-problem puzzle with the provided problem that was inaccurate.	Beginning The student computed an unreasonable word-problem puzzle and/or did not create one.
