Cutting/grinding
Poor
Cuts were not close to the pattern, too much grinding had to be done in order for the piece to fit well, grinding was not accurate to pattern, too many adjustments had to be made
Fair
cuts we close to the pattern with some noticeable gaps, grinding was done but too frequently (better cutting = less grinding)
Good
Cuts match the pattern fairly accurately and minimal grinding was needed. There are some small issues with fit but otherwise an accurately cut project
Excellent
Cutting was sharp and precise to the pattern, no observable gaps or issues of any kind. Grinding was done to smooth or shape small areas but not as a means major adjustments.
foiling/soldering
Poor
Foiling was poorly done, some pieces did not receive the needed amount of foil in order to be soldered. Soldering is sloppy and still has sharp edges or flat areas
Fair
Foiling was adequate but some areas are uneven, soldering is a bit flat, joints and edges are slightly messy and could still use some clean up
Good
Foiling was neatly done, no major areas of issue, some minor problems with evenness, Soldering is generally neat and tidy with small adjustments that could be made at the joints
Excellent
Foiling was even and neatly done, well fit, soldering is clean and neat, long clean lines from joint to joint, joints are neat and edges are clean
finishing details/edging
Poor
Edging is sloppy with excess solder at places other than joints, edging bends in where pieces were not lined up correctly, ends are not soldered well, piece is not cleaned well and still has major flux build up
Fair
Edging is soldered in all the right places, only a few dents where edge did not line up correctly, corners are held together but could be neater, piece has been sufficiently cleaned.
Good
Edging is neat and tidy, soldered only at connections and corners with no excess, a few minor dips on the edge from unevenness, flux has been cleaned off well
Excellent
Edging looks like a continuation of soldering, very neatly done with no issues at the corners or joint, piece is clean and shiny, ready for display
