Understanding

Poor

Director had little idea what the play was about. Did not seem to know the author or the material.
Fair

Director had a basic idea of what play was about.
An attempt was made to share it with the actors.
Good

Director clearly understood the script. Had a clear vision of how to present the play and communicated it well to the actors. It was obvious the play had been researched somewhat.
Outstanding

Director had obviously gone above and beyond the scipt by researching era, author, style, language, historically relevant touches, etc. Director's knowledge was beyond what the script offers.
Effectivity

Poor

Directors goofed off as much if not more so than actors.
Fair

Director only required a minimal amount of work. Did not encourage students to work continually.
Good

Actors were predominantly required to work during rehearsal. They commanded respect.
Outstanding

All moving parts were organized and no time was left unspoken for for anyone. They earned respect, and led by example.
Leadership

Poor

Director did not take the lead, any more-so than the actors. Leadership style was not apparent and confusing.
Fair

Director has a moderate to decent hand in guiding the vision of the play. Too often seemed unprepared and making decisions on the fly.
Good

Director understood and communicated vision and choices within, but occasionally was surprised by moments of decisions to be made.
Outstanding

Director was the primary (or complimentary) force in guiding the actors towards making choices, decisions, and understanding the play's vision. A clear path to the ultimate goal was understood and communicated.
Goals

Director did not state goal at the start of rehearsal.
Fair

Director stated goal at the start of rehearsal.
Director did not stay on task and/or did not accomplish goal.
