Elaboration 10 pts Enter description	Poor No real attempt is made to think critically on the reading assignment. The writing is less than one-quarter page in length.	Fair The writer exhibits a beginning discussion on the think sheet as it pertains to the material read. The writing is less than a half page in length.	Accomplished The writer discusses the reading with deep thought and critical thinking. The writing approaches three quarters of a page in length.	Exemplary The writer analyzes the reading material with advanced critical thinking skills. The writing approaches one page in length.
Personal Tie In 5 pts Enter description	Poor The writer does not reflect on the personal tie in from the reading.	Fair The writer mentions a personal tie in to the reading, but no thought is given to the integration of elaboration and the personal aspect.	Accomplished A well thought out tie in or implication that reflects the personal experience of the writer.	Exemplary The writer carefully and fully integrates an elaboration on the reading and their personal experience.
