You may draw a scene from one of the Origin Stories. The scene must use vivid imagery. You may paint, draw, use mixed media, etc., as long as it is easily interpreted. Below the drawing, write at least two sentence explaining the scene.

Very little effort made in drawing. The scene does not reflect the story at all. Picture is messy and sloppy. Picture not colored.

Student put some effort in the drawing. It is a clear scene from the story, but is not colored.
Meeting Expectations

Students put a lot of effort in their drawing. The drawing reflects clearly a scene from the story. The scene is colored nicely.
Exceeding Expectations

Student drew a very detailed scene from the story. The scene is creative and attractive. The scene is colored very nicely. Evidence of imagination and effort clear.

Beginning to Develop

Sentences contain many errors or there is no explanation at all of scene.
Approaching Expectations

Sentences contain some grammatical errors, and it mostly explains the scene.
Meeting Expectations

Sentences contain very few errors and accurately explains the scene.
Exceeding Expectations

Sentences contain little or no errors and thoroughly explains the scene.

Student did not understand the text and the setting. Drawing not representative of knowledge of details, characters, and background of scene.

Student represents a somewhat clear understanding of the text and the setting. Drawing somewhat representative of knowledge of details, characters, and background of scene.

Student represents a thoughtful interpretation and understanding of the text and the setting. Drawing is representative of plausible textual evidence of details, characters, and background of scene.
Exceeding Expectations

Student represents a critical and reflective interpretation and understanding of the text and the setting. Drawing is representative of textual evidence of details, characters, and background of scene.
