MyPlate Assessment Rubric 
1. Students will use a nine-inch paper plate to create their own MyPlate. 2. Color plate to resemble the colors on MyPlate. 3. Label each food group and cut or draw foods (at least two foods per group) that represents MyPlate food groups.

The work was done with good effort that shows what the learner is capable of. It is evident that time was put into this plate and presentation.
Exceeds

The work done exceeds all expectations and shows that the learner is proud of his/her work. The effort that was put into this task is the best it can be by the learner.
Creativity

Poor

Lacks creativity. Not good use of space on poster. Messy. Lacks color.
Fair

Not very appealing. Limited use of creative materials. Not alot of color/shapes/design.
Good

Contains good creativity. Lots of colors, shapes, and appealing design. Shows the student spent time creating an artistic piece.
Exceeds

Eye catching. Great use of colors, shapes, and spacing on poster. Artwork is neat. Writing is easy to read.
Presentation/Spelling & Grammar

-Neat work.
-Free of spelling and grammar errors.

Poor

Not on required plate. Pieces/items falling or hanging off. There are 6 or more spelling/grammar errors.
Fair

Plate is damaged, poorly presented. Some items possibly falling off. There are 3-5 spelling/grammar errors.
Good

Plate is correct size, clean and neatly displayed. No items falling off. Submitted on due date. There are 1-3 spelling/grammar errors.
Exceeds

Plate is of exceptional quality and presentation. Nothing hanging or falling off. Submitted on time. There are no spelling/grammar errors.
