Elementary Solo Adjudication Vocal Solo Adjudication Rubric Students audition for a solo that will be performed during the next concert. They will be scored on steady beat, rhythm, intonation, diction, tone quality, and projection. Solo Audition

Steady Beat	4 Student ALWAYS sings with a steady beat and is able to sing along with the accompaniment at the correct tempo.	3 Student MOSTLY sings with a steady beat and is able to sing along with the accompaniment at the correct tempo.	2 Student SOMETIMES sings with a steady beat and is able to sing along with the accompaniment at the correct tempo.	1 Student is NOT ABLE to sing with a steady beat and is unable to sing along with the accompaniment up to tempo at this time.
Rhythm	4 Student ALWAYS sings rhythms accurately.	3 Student sings rhythms accurately, only missing 1-2 rhythms.	2 Student SOMETIMES sings rhythms accurately, missing 3-4 rhythms.	1 Student is NOT ABLE sing rhythms accurately at this time, missing 5 or more rhythms.
Intonation (pitch)	4 Student ALWAYS sings the correct pitches and demonstrates perfect intonation.	3 Student MOSTLY sings the correct pitches and demonstrates very good intonation, only missing 1-2 pitches.	2 Student SOMETIMES sings the correct pitches, missing 3-4 pitches.	1 Student is NOT ABLE to sing the correct pitches and demonstrates poor intonation, missing 5 or more pitches.
Diction (words)	4 Student ALWAYS articulates the words clearly. The lyrics are easily understood.	3 Student MOSTLY articulates the words clearly. The lyrics are mostly understood.	2 Student SOMETIMES articulates the words clearly. The lyrics are NOT easily understood.	1 Student is NOT ABLE to articulate the words clearly at this time. The lyrics are NOT easily understood.
Tone Quality	4 Students ALWAYS sings with good, clear, relaxed tone.	3 Student MOSTLY sings with good, clear tone. The tone may be a little breathy at times or not as relaxed.	2 Student SOMETIMES sings with good tone but it is breathy and not relaxed.	1 Student is NOT ABLE to sing with good tone at this time.
Projection	4 Student ALWAYS projects and is easily heard.	3 Student SOMETIMES projects and is easily heard.	2 Student SOMETIMES projects but is not easily heard for a majority of the song.	1 Student is NOT ABLE to project voice at this time. Student was not able to be heard over the accompaniment.
