Multiplication and Division Strategies A Hearty Helping of Multiplication Students will calculate multiplication and division problems using a variety of strategies. 	Below 1 pts	Approaching 2 pts	Meeting 3 pts	Exceeds 4 pts
Multiplication	Below Student used only one strategy correctly to multiply.	Approaching Student used at least two strategies correctly to multiply.	Meeting Student used three strategies correctly to multiply.	Exceeds Student used four strategies correctly to multiply.
Division	Below Student used only 1 strategy correctly to divide.	Approaching Student used at least two strategies correctly to divide.	Meeting Student used at least three strategies correctly to divide.	Exceeds Student used four strategies correctly to divide.
Communication	Below Student does not demonstrate understanding through communication (charts, illustrations, math sentences, words, etc.) Solutions are incorrect.	Approaching Student demonstrates partial understanding, but does not clearly explaining strategies through communication (charts, illustrations, math sentences, words, etc.) Many solutions are incorrect.	Meeting Student mostly demonstrates understanding and is able to communicate strategies/thought processes through use of charts, illustrations, math sentences, words, and/or etc. Most solutions are correct.	Exceeds Student clearly demonstrates understanding and is able to communicate strategies/thought processes through use of charts, illustrations, math sentences, words, and/or etc. All solutions are correct.
Presentation	Below Student does not present different strategies in a neat, organized and colorful manner.	Approaching Students presents strategies with some organization, color, and creativity.	Meeting Student mostly presents their strategies in a creative, organized, and neat manner.	Exceeds Student clearly presents their strategies in a creative, organized, and neat manner.
