Focus Main idea of the text.	Poor Moral lesson of the story is not clear and poorly thought out. No points in the story support what is being said.	Fair Moral lesson of the story is not entirely clear and can cause confusion to the reader.	Good Moral lesson of the story is clear. Certain points of the story do not support the lesson being taught.	Excellent Moral lesson of the story is clear and leaves no confusion to the reader. All points in the story support the moral lesson.
Narration The proper way to communicate the story to others.	Poor Narration is inaudible and either too loud or too soft. The narrator also speaks too fast or too slow, and sounds uninterested.	Fair Narration is audible but not clear, the narrator is not speaking at a constant pace and sounds uninterested most of the time.	Good Narration is audible and clear, the words are articulated well. Narrator is speaking at a constant pace but is lacking prosody.	Excellent Narration is audible and clear. The narrator is articulating well, speaking at a proper volume, constant pace, and is speaking with prosody.
Digital Design The visual attractiveness of the story.	Poor Student used little to no visuals. Visuals used were too simple and did not support the text. Student did not make use of the design features offered on the storybook website.	Fair Student sporadically placed visuals that sometimes supported the text. Arrangement The proper arrangement of a story.	Poor No clear beginning middle or end in the story. Student tells the story completely out of sequence.	Fair Story for the most part has a beginning middle and end. Student tells some parts out of sequence which can cause confusion to the reader.	Good Clear beginning, middle, and end. Student properly sequences events in an adequate manner.	Excellent Clear beginning, middle, and end. Student properly sequences events in a strong manner.
Conventions The use of grammar, sentence structure, and spelling.	Poor More than 5 errors in spelling and grammar. Weak sentence structure.	Fair 4 errors in spelling and grammar. Weak but developing sentence structure.	Good Less than 3 errors in spelling and grammar. Sufficient spelling structure.	Excellent No misspellings, no grammatical errors, and proper sentence structure.
