Master Abstraction Using the Grid Method
Impressionist Painting
Students take a section of Master artwork and create abstraction using the Grid method. Included - two page essay describing the piece they chose, why they chose it and how they intended to execute the work. This will include the original artist's name, title of work, date, a brief biography of the artist and a detailed description of the piece, which can include: technique,color brushstroke,emphasis It's Uniqueness - sets it apart of those of same period.

The student attempts to do the assigned assignment but it is incomplete.
Good
The student completes the assignment but there are some areas that are not complete.
Mastery
The student completes a well thought out, two page assignment and it is turned in neatly. Proper spelling and punctuation are used. The paper answers the questions given in the description.
Grid System
Poor
The student does not attempt to properly use the Grid System in their work.
Fair
The student attempts to use the Grid System with some imperfections.
Good
The student has a good understanding of the Grid system with just a few minor imperfections.
Mastery
The student shows a Mastery of the Grid system in perfecting their final abstraction of the original work.
Appearance of Work
Poor
The student does not attempt to keep their work neat and clean with edges painted etc.
Fair
The student makes an effort to display proper care in the appearance of their work.
Good
Student's work is presentable with a few imperfections.
Mastery
The student presents a well cared for, clean work of art.
Participation
Poor
The student does not stay on task and participate in the project.
Fair
The student has a hard time staying on task but does participate in the project.
Good
The student is on task most of the time.
Mastery
The student fully participates in the project.
