My Culture Individual Presentation 
This project will give students a chance to explore their own ancestry and develop an understanding on how Old World cultures play a role in many of the traditions that are impactful in their lives. This project will consist of a 750-1500 word APA formatted essay and a presentation. This presentation will be a PowerPoint 6-8 Minute presentation. The students will present their projects to the class.

Meets Standard Expectation

Exceeds minimum word count (more than 1 page to 2.5 pages pages) or student exceeds maximum word count(Over 3 pages). Student gives a minimum of 5 examples of their own culture and examples of where that culture came from. The student has a thesis statement that is easily identified in the introduction. Student shows an understanding of how their lives are impacted by chosen culture. Chosen culture information is well presented. Receives at least a 10 score on writing rubric.

Word count is maximized (3 pages) without exceeding 2000. Essay is grammatical and spelling error free. Student shows a clear understanding of how chosen culture relates to their life and gives multiple examples. Chosen culture information is plentiful and well presented. Student shows a clear understanding of the region and its cultural impact on the world. Receives above a 10 score on writing rubric.
