Spelling and Grammar	Level 4 Proper use of spelling and grammar is used consistently throughout the writing assignment.	Level 3 There are a few spelling and grammar errors, however it does not take away from the overall quality of the writing assignment.	Level 2 Poor spelling and grammar muddle the overall effectiveness of this piece.	Level 1 There are so many spelling and grammar errors that it is difficult to comprehend the meaning.
Word Choice	Level 4 Strong, vivid words and descriptions throughout. The reader has a clear picture of the scene.	Level 3 Strong words and descriptions throughout.
