Writing Assessment

Students will choose one of three writing prompts. They will then write a 5 sentence paragraph. The must us who, what, when, where, and why details in their paragraph. They must Use proper punctuation and capitalization. Indent and have very few spelling errors

length	Poor 1-2 sentences	Fair 3-4 sentences	Good 5 + sentences
readibility	Poor Doesn't make sence. OR Doesn't follow prompt	Fair Makes sense but is difficult to read due to sloppy writing, poor grammer, spelling, or scratch outs. OR Somewhat follows prompt but gets off topic at some point	Good Easy to read. Stays on topic. Is neat. Follows prompt. Makes sense.
Conventions	Poor Has 5 or more spelling errors, AND/OR Has 3 or more Capitalization errors AND/OR Has 3 or more punctuation errors.	Fair Has 3-4 Spelling errors AND/OR Has 1-2 Capitalization errors AND/OR Has 1-2 punctuation errors.	Good Has 1-2 Spelling errors AND Has 0 Capitalization errors AND Has 0 punctuation errors.
