Emerging Is able to understand the information in the family history means, but struggles to translate it into setting up the pedigree without assistance.	Proficient Demonstrates strong understanding of what the information in the family history means and how it can be used to set up a pedigree. Provides clear grasp of how to decipher information from the family history to set up a pedigree.
Organization and Symbols	Developing Pedigree Chart is organized incorrectly and/or symbols are used incorrectly. Does not know how to set up the pedigree chart	Emerging Some symbols are used correctly and organization is partially correct.	Proficient All symbols are used correctly and pedigree chart is organized correctly.
Patterns of Inheritance	Developing Does not have grasp of information and cannot decipher the patterns of inheritance in the pedigree.	Emerging Can see a pattern of inheritance, but struggles to use the information from that pattern to predict who might be affected in future generations.	Proficient Demonstrates full knowledge of the pedigree and can correctly decipher the pattern of inheritance present in the pedigree.
