In Class Film Viewing Rubric 
Since this is a film class, obviously the bulk of the work will be based on the films viewed in class. To be fair, a student must be present to see the movie in class and complete any assigned work. In addition, the student must be actively paying attention

Student does not have head down, on an electronic device, doing other work, talking, or any behavior that takes away the students full attention.

Excellent

Student was actively engaged in watching film during the duration of the movie. The student's attention was not compromised in any manner. Overall, the student demonstrated attentiveness and interest throughout.
Good

Student's attention was focused, attentive, and interested most of the time throughout the duration of the film .
Fair

At several points, student's attention was compromised during the viewing of the film. Student did not demonstrate attentiveness and interest; therefore, missing key moments in the film.
Poor

For the majority of the film, the student's attention was compromised and was not attentive during the viewing of the film. AT many points the students did not show interest and missed many key points during the movie.
No Credit

For the entire viewing of the movie, the student's attention was compromised in some way and missed the entire viewing of the movie.
Attendance

Students must be present to get credit for watching the movie. In addition, to effectively complete any assignments in class, the student must have been present to see the movie.

Excellent

Student was present during the entire viewing of the movie. In addition, the student was on time from start to finish of each day the movie was shown
Good

Student was present during the entire viewing of the movie but may have been tardy at some point when the movie was shown.
Fair

Student missed one day of the viewing of the movie or was late to class on two or more days during the viewing of the movie.
Poor

The student missed two days of the viewing of the movie.
No Credit

Student was absent during the entire viewing of the movie.
Overall

Student was always in attendance, paid full attention, on time, and respectful of others around him/her in consideration of others' viewing experience.
Good

For the majority of the time, the student was in attendance, paid attention, on time, and considerate of other students' viewing experience.
Fair

At some points, the student was tardy, in attentive, absent, or disruptive to those around him or her; therefore, disrupting the viewing experience of others.
Poor

AT many points, the student was either tardy, absent, or disruptive and not paying full attention to the film.
No Credit

For most of the viewing of the movie, the student was either absent, tardy, not paying attention, and/or disruptive.
