This is a grading rubric for study skills class--the students are to be completing homework, not distracting others, being productive with time, and demonstrating positive independent work behaviors.

Student is OFF task. Student must be asked repeatedly about assignments, or refuses to work on directed task. Student refuses help or plays around when help is offered. Student almost never has supplies or planner and rarely knows what supplies are needed. Student planner is not used.
Does Not Meet
Student is OFF task more often than on task and requires significant reorientation to task. Student may only know assignments in 2 of 5 cases. Student may occasionally refuse or deny needing help. Student almost always shows up to class without needed supplies, and often does not have/use their planner w/out prompts or support.
Partially Meets
Student is on task more often than not. Student is basically organized but needs minor support in use. Student knows assignments in 3 of 5 cases. Student partially completes their planner or needs occasional prompts to fill out completely. Student may need prompting to ask for help with work. Student often asks to go to locker for supplies.
Meets
Student is mostly on task and asks for help when needed; the student demonstrates a good level of organization and knows what assignments are in 4 out of 5 cases. The student planner is typically completed and used to organize tasks. Student may not have all materials on rare occasion.
Exceeds
Student stays on task for essentially the entire period; the student asks for help when needed; and works toward completion/completes assignment. Student knows what the work is and stays organized and comes to study skills with all materials. Student planner is independently completed without prompting and the student is observed referencing the student planner to plan study times.

The student is a near constant disruption of others, he/she is out of his/her seat, being very loud, attempting to engage others in off-topic conversation.
Does Not Meet
The student is quiet, seated, having almost no side conversations and respects that others have work to do in 2 out of 5 cases.
Partially Meets
The student is relatively quiet, seated, having no side conversations and respects that others have work to do in 3 out of 5 cases.
Meets
The student is quiet, seated, having few side conversations and respects that others have work to do in 4 out of 5 cases.
Exceeds
The student is quiet, seated, having almost no side conversations and respects that others have work to do in nearing 5 out of 5 cases.
