How to Conduct an Interview
Interview - Getting to know our class
Managers will participate in mock interviews using the skills they learned in the one hour training. These skills include 1) identify interview skills of potential candidates 2) ask 5-6 quality questions about job description and resume 3) ask 2-3 follow up questions to clarify credentials.

Some of the questions are relevant and connected. Manager stays mostly on topic but may stray occasionally.

Questions are all over the place, does not seem relevant to interviewer or interviewee. OR the interview is not conducted.

The interviewer asks 1-2 insightful, in-depth questions. There is little sequence to the questions.
Poor
The interviewer asks questions that are answered in one word. There is no sequence to the questions.
Follow-up/preparation

Interviewer communicates well and knows what s/he is going to say. Asks 2 or more clarifying questions that may not be answered in one word. There is a sequence to the questions.
Good
It is obvious, most of the time, that interviewer practiced. S/he communicates well and ask at least one clarifying question.
Fair
It is not quite obvious the interviewer practiced. S/he communicates but may need support. Does not ask any clarifying questions.
Poor
It is obvious the interviewer has not practiced. S/he did not communicate well or know what to say.

Interviewer is poised. Does not fidget, speaks clearly, and loud enough for audience.
Good
Interviewer is mostly poised. Does not fidget much, speaks clearly, and can be heard by the audience.
Fair
Interviewer is nervous. Does fidget, does not speak clearly, nor loud enough for audience, can still be heard but slightly.
Poor
Interviewer is nervous, unprepared. S/he fidgets, does not speak clearly, or loud enough for audience. Eye contact is lacking and/or audience is never addressed.
