Presentation of Question:
"How can we help the people in our community and the world who are suffering from hunger? I will present this question and show the students a video on this subject.
Content Summary
I will present the first lesson of starting a food drive. We will go over ideas of how to get started. We will discuss the subject of world hunger. The students will put together their food drive.
Assessment Summary
During the lesson the students will be asked to give a few sentences of their knowledge of world hunger. They will be assessed in how well they work together as a group and class participation.
Research Process

The research process will be explained. The students will be able to use tools such as the internet and encyclopedia to start their research process.
Content Summary
The students will be placed into groups of three or four to start their research. They will have composition books to take notes.
Assessment Summary
The students will be assessed weekly on how well they are taking notes and working as a group. Also, the students will be assessed on how well they are using technology to research.

After explanation of this lesson, the students should be able to know the value of saving. They should also know the value of money, buying goods, buying services, earning income, protecting, and insuring.
Content Summary
We will go to a homeless shelter and interview people to find out how they became homeless.The students will be given worksheets titled, "The Value of Money". They will have a set income and they will have to pay all their expenses and bills while still having money to save.
Assessment Summary
The students will be assessed on how well they put together their worksheets. They will also be assessed on their interviews.

After this lesson plan, the students will be able to have the skills to write their essays. They will also have the knowledge and skills on how to present in front of a group.

The students will begin their rough drafts of their essays. We will edit the essays and practice in presenting in front of partners.

Students will be assessed on their writing skills and class participation.
