Cover 10 % Students must create a cover for the magazine which provides an accurate tease for the feature story while being true to an overall theme of the magazine.	Poor Cover accurately represents neither the feature story nor the theme of the magazine.	Fair The cover indicates which story is the feature within the magazine.	Good/Excellent The cover provides an accurate representation of both the subject of the feature story and the overall theme of the magazine.
Use of classical language 10 % Students should use at least one Latin or Greek phrase in each article that is appropriate to the topic.	Poor Quotes are minimal or absent.	Fair There are quotes in each article, but they are brief and not especially imaginative; if student-created, they contain significant errors.	Good/Excellent There are quotes in each article that show evidence of research and/or skill in crafting original Latin appropriate to the course level.

Good/Excellent Delivery is clear and contains much information; students can answer all questions about their work.
Feature stories 15 % Secondary news stories; arts and entertainment stories.	Poor Articles missing bylines OR articles did not have adequate headline OR photographs and graphics do not have captions. Grammar & Spelling 10 %	Poor Writers make more than 4 errors in grammar or spelling that distract the reader from the content. Group Work 10 %	Poor One or more students in the group required quite a lot of assistance from peers before contributing.	Fair Each person in the group has contributed at least one article, one carton or photograph with a few reminders from peers.	Good/Excellent Each person in the group has contributed at least one articles and one cartoon or photograph without prompting from teachers or peers.
Bibliography 10 %	Poor Bibliography is missing or contains 3 or fewer online sources.	Fair Bibliography shows some evidence of research but is confined to online sources.	Good/Excellent Bibliography shows strong evidence of research in both print and online sources.
